ABOUT ME

Here’s a little information about me. I grew up in Westland, Michigan and graduated from John Glenn High School. I went to Eastern Michigan University and graduated with a B.S. in Earth Science & Psychology (minor in General Science) in 1998. I began my teaching career at Roosevelt in the fall of 1999. I received my M.A. in Multidisciplinary Science from Wayne State University in 2003.

In December 2003, I got married to Mr. Weller (Chemistry guy downstairs) at the beach in Naples, Florida. We have two sons, Ethan (born in December 2005) & Brady (born in August 2008). They are destined to be a science fair winners of some sort! We also have a few pets: Bella (Chilean Rose-haired Tarantula) & a tank full of South American fish!

Besides teaching about the Earth, I enjoy exploring this vast planet in my free time. Traveling has been a part of my family since I was a little girl. I’ve continued that tradition with my own family. Highlights from my travels will appear in many of our class discussions. I also enjoy taking photographs, scrap booking, figure skating, and reading.
